This fall will be a homecoming for Randy Ragland.
Middle Creek High School announced on Friday that Ragland will return to the school and take over as the head football coach.
Ragland was on the football staff at Middle Creek from 2005-2010, serving as the quarterbacks coach, offensive coordinator and assistant head coach, most recently under Sean Crocker who is now at Panther Creek.
“During his time at Middle Creek, Coach Ragland installed the spread offense that has helped lead the Mustangs to great success on the football field over the past ten years,” said Middle Creek athletic director Jeremy Thompson.
For three straight years, Ragland’s offense at Middle Creek produced both a 1,000-yard rusher and a 2,000-yard passer. In 2009, the Mustangs saw a 3,800-yard passer.
Ragland left Middle Creek to become the head football coach at West Johnston High school in Benson in 2010. After winning just four games in his first season, the Wildcats posted a 7-4 record in 2011.
